Botanical extracts as anti-aging preparations for the skin: a systematic review

Conclusion: In summary, there is some weak evidence to suggest that several botanical extracts may be effective in reducing the appearance of skin aging but no evidence that this effect is enduring. Independent replications with larger, more diverse samples, longer treatment durations and more rigorous study designs are required to validate these preliminary findings.

Maca (L. meyenii) for improving sexual function: a systematic review

Conclusion: The results of our systematic review provide limited evidence for the effectiveness of maca in improving sexual function. However, the total number of trials, the total sample size, and the average methodological quality of the primary studies were too limited to draw firm conclusions. More rigorous studies are warranted.

“From what I’ve read about maca, it’s great in low quality quantities. It’s not something you want to take regularly (like 2-3x week max) because it’ll further disrupt your hormones.”

“it's a noticeable increase in mood, energy and aggression (in a good way, think testerone). Also, major increase in sex drive”
