What the research says

Systematic reviews and meta-analyses from PubMed, with their published conclusions.

AStrong research base

3+ meta-analyses or systematic reviews and 10+ randomized controlled trials in humans. The grade measures how much human research exists — read the conclusions below for what it found.

Ital J Pediatr · 2018 · Meta-analysis / systematic review
Does a low FODMAPs diet reduce symptoms of functional abdominal pain disorders? A systematic review in adult and paediatric population, on behalf of Italian Society of Pediatrics

Conclusion: The FODMAPs-restricted diet may be an effective dietary intervention for reducing IBS symptoms in adults. In children, there are promising data, although only one randomized double-blind study exists and further data are needed to better clarify the role of FODMAPs and fructose-restricted diet in IBS. The current evidence does not support the use of a lactose-restricted diet in children with FGIDs.

Inevitable human exposure to emissions of polybrominated diphenyl ethers: A perspective on potential health risks

Conclusion: In this direction, the intent of the present review was to provide a critical evaluation of the key aspects like compositional patterns/isomer ratios of PBDEs implicated in bioaccumulation, indoor PBDE emissions versus human exposure, secured technologies to deal with the toxic emissions, and human toxicity of PBDEs in relation to the number of bromine atoms. Finally, an emphasis has been made on the knowledge gaps and future research directions related to endurable flame retardants which could fit well into the benefit/risk strategy.

Effects of global treaties on commercial chemicals widely used as additives: a meta-analysis of historical measurements of polybrominated diphenyl ethers

Conclusion: Long-term emissions from treated products with large stocks of these chemicals after bans, along with the bioaccumulation of PBDEs (especially BDE-153), have significantly delayed the effectiveness of treaties in eliminating human exposure and health risks. Moreover, regionally varied policy enforcement and consumption patterns have further reduced effectiveness of these treaties on a global scale. The chemical diversity of different PBDE congeners also affects the effectiveness of the bans. Currently, there is a paucity of systematic longitudinal studies to evaluate the effectiveness of monit

“The only thing that did anything out of all the drugs I tried was deca and to a much lesser extent, some noticeable improvement from anavar (that could have just been strengthening of the knee muscles, but deca was real improvement of tendons or cartilage or whatever is in the knee joint).”
