Neuro Oncol · 2026 · Meta-analysis / systematic review
A systematic study of molecular diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis in infant-type hemispheric glioma: An individual patient data meta-analysis of 164 patients

Conclusion: Together, these findings show that IHG is a fusion driven tumor of the very young that is survivable even after progression. While optimal primary therapy for patients with IHG has yet to be established, the findings of this meta-analysis suggest treatment should focus on lowering surgical morbidity and improving its success.

Impact of the H3K27M mutation on survival in pediatric high-grade glioma: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Conclusion: Future larger prospective studies are required to overcome inherent biases in the current literature to validate the quantitative findings of this study. ABBREVIATIONS CI = confidence interval; GRADE = Grades of Recommendation Assessment, Development and Evaluation; HR = hazard ratio; MD = mean difference; NOS = Newcastle-Ottawa Scale; OS = overall survival; pHGG = pediatric high-grade glioma; PRISMA = Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses; RE = random effects.

Probiotics for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Clinical Data in Children

Conclusion: Preclinical data suggest that changes in the gut microbiota can affect brain signaling systems related to pain and associated emotional behavior. Therefore, probiotics could play a relevant role in the management of FGIDs, by affecting the gut microbiota or by altering brain function and pain perception centrally.

JAMA Netw Open · 2022 · Meta-analysis / systematic review
Extent of Tumor Resection and Survival in Pediatric Patients With High-Grade Gliomas: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

Conclusion: Results of this study show that, among patients with pHGG, GTR is independently associated with better overall survival compared with STR and biopsy, especially among patients with hemispheric and infratentorial tumors, and support the pursuit of maximal safe resection in the treatment of pHGGs.
