What the research says

Systematic reviews and meta-analyses from PubMed, with their published conclusions.

AStrong research base

3+ meta-analyses or systematic reviews and 10+ randomized controlled trials in humans. The grade measures how much human research exists — read the conclusions below for what it found.

Comparative efficacy, tolerability and acceptability of donanemab, lecanemab, aducanumab and lithium on cognitive function in mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease: A systematic review and network meta-analysis

Conclusion: Although it is yet to be determined which is more effective between lithium or lecanemab or donanemab, lithium may be more effective than aducanumab. Aducanumab, lecanemab and donanemab do not appear to differ in their effectiveness on cognitive function. Low-dose lithium may be safer than aducanumab, lecanemab and donanemab.

Treatment of Early-Onset Specified and Unspecified Bipolar Disorders: A Systematic Review and Strategies for Identifying and Managing a Thermally Dysregulated Subtype in Children

Conclusion: Good support was provided in the 11 studies for the use of adjunctive family-focused psychotherapeutic approaches, and this approach should be considered an important part of any treatment regimen. The pharmacological treatment landscape for S-USBD lacks a systematic research base, warranting further exploration with controlled clinical trials. Case series indicate promising treatment outcomes for TSDD with high-dose lithium, clonidine, ketamine, and other cooling measures. Validation of this novel treatment strategy in controlled trials is needed to advance the management of the S-USBD varian

Survival and Complication Rates of Feldspathic, Leucite-Reinforced, Lithium Disilicate and Zirconia Ceramic Laminate Veneers: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Conclusion: Feldspathic, LRGC and LDS laminate-veneers showed high survival-rates at long-term observation. LDS slightly outperforms feldspathic and LRGC laminate-veneers with lower long-term complication rates. More studies providing long-term data on zirconia laminate-veneers are needed.

Incidence of antidepressant discontinuation symptoms: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Conclusion: Considering non-specific effects, as evidenced in placebo groups, the incidence of antidepressant discontinuation symptoms is approximately 15%, affecting one in six to seven patients who discontinue their medication. Subgroup analyses and heterogeneity figures point to factors not accounted for by diagnosis, medication, or trial-related characteristics, and might indicate subjective factors on the part of investigators, patients, or both. Residual or re-emerging psychopathology needs to be considered when interpreting the results, but our findings can inform clinicians and patients about the
