What the research says

Systematic reviews and meta-analyses from PubMed, with their published conclusions.

BModerate research base

At least one meta-analysis, or 5+ randomized controlled trials. The grade measures how much human research exists — read the conclusions below for what it found.

J Natl Cancer Inst · 1990 · Meta-analysis / systematic review
Pharmacologically guided phase I clinical trials based upon preclinical drug development

Conclusion: Consequently, the phase I trials for each drug were completed with a savings of 12-24 months. As a result of work in both the United States and Europe, a substantial collection of data now demonstrates that coordination with preclinical pharmacology and toxicology studies can save both time and resources in early clinical trials without a loss of safety.

Prognostic significance of preinjury anticoagulation in patients with traumatic brain injury: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Conclusion: Preinjury anticoagulation is a powerful prognosticator of mortality in TBI patients. This highlights the need for dedicated triage and trauma team activation protocols considering earlier intervention and more aggressive imaging in all anticoagulated patients. Future studies should focus on strategies that can potentially reduce the risk of mortality in this population. The prognostic significance of direct oral anticoagulants versus warfarin remains unanswered.
