What the research says

Systematic reviews and meta-analyses from PubMed, with their published conclusions.

Use of food and food-derived products in the treatment of gastritis: A systematic review

Conclusion: We found 28 clinical studies evaluating garlic, turmeric, red peppers, broccoli sprouts, cranberry juice, honey, oils, and probiotics contained in different foods, such as juices, yogurt, and cheese. The existing literature presents a high risk of bias, and results of the same should be evaluated and replicated with precaution; more rigorous clinical studies are lacking.

Efficacy and safety of sulforaphane in schizophrenia: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

Conclusion: The study provides initial insights into sulforaphane's potential therapeutic effects in schizophrenia, showing modest improvements in general psychopathology and negative symptoms, with favorable metabolic changes and lower discontinuation rates. Due to limited data and heterogeneity, the study findings should be interpreted with caution.

Exercise Interventions Combined With Dietary Supplements in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients-A Systematic Review of Relevant Health Outcomes

Conclusion: DS intake can potentially increase the benefits of physical training for specific health outcomes in T2DM patients. However, negative effects can also be observed. Possible cellular and molecular mechanisms behind potential synergistic or divergent effects of exercise training and DS use in T2DM should be explored in detail in future studies for the development of safe recommendations.
